Duke of Alba and Count Bergeyck to Marlborough: the king [Philip V of Spain] has declared them his plenipotentiaries. The injustice of the attempts of Great Britain and Holland to dethrone him. There is no question of the unification of the crowns of France and Spain. He offers them the same trading rights they enjoyed under Charles II [of Spain]. They request passports to pursue their embassy. ff. 57-60
