Marlborough [to Boyle]: he will pass the queen's thanks to the prince of Friesland for his offer of the [Queen Mary's] jewels. He does not think the same language should be used in the Spanheim letter. He welcomes the project of the treaty about Minorca. The day before, de Surville asked for a parley, and as a result the enclosed proposed articles were drawn up [for the surrender of the citadel]. [SP 87/5/22]. An answer from the French court is expected in three or four days. The siege continues. Dated at camp before Tournai. ff. 41, 42
