Marlborough to Boyle: he has received the answer the queen has given Count Gallas. The earl of Raby has sent him two letters from Prince Ragotzki to the queen and the states [general]. The aide-de-camp who brought them also has similar letters from the chief of the protestant states of Hungary, and Marlborough has asked that these be brought to The Hague for him. He encloses a letter [SP 87/3/142] from a minister at Madrid to the duke of Orléans. He cannot believe that they will attempt to besiege Lille so early. Dated at Brussels. ff. 284, 285
