Marlborough to Boyle: he encloses a letter from the count de la Mothe [SP 87/3/125] requesting safe conduct for the prince d'Enghien, Brigadier Cano and M. d'Aubigni, who made a proposal for the surrender of the town and citadel [of Ghent], which he has accepted. He expects Bruges to follow suit. As the campaign is now virtually over, he suggests that the six battalions at Ostend be returned to England. He encloses a copy of the king of Prussia [Frederick I]'s response to his letter. Dated at camp at Meirelbeke. ff. 251, 252
