Marlborough to the earl of Sunderland: regarding the ill-treatment of the garrison of Tortosa, he does not think that Marshal Starhemberg has made a formal complaint, and so he is not sure whether the states [general] and the prince [Eugene] will take notice. He has received a letter from Count Maffei which indicates that his master will not quit the field so soon as Palmes believes. He will press for the renewal of the treaty relating to the king of Prussia [Frederick I]'s troops in Piedmont. Progress of the engineers [at the siege of Lille]. Prince Eugene has recovered from his wound. Marlborough has sent dragoons to secure communications with Ostend. Dated at camp at Roncq. ff. 193, 194
