Marlborough to the earl of Sunderland: the action with de la Motte was greater than it appeared, and the enemy suffered serious losses. The king of Prussia [Frederick I]'s minister has informed him that he may recall his troops from Italy. Marlborough encloses the answer he gave and what the minister has written to court [SP 87/3/93]. The earl of Raby is to be informed of this. Dated at camp at Roncq. PS. in Marlborough's hand that Raby is to be informed by the next post. ff. 189, 190
