Marlborough [?to Boyle]: the Russian ambassador imputes his success in England and the queen's recognition of King Stanislaus to Marlborough. The heavy artillery has arrived at Brussels and there is a need for horses, which the duke of Berwick is trying to deny them. The count de Tilly has been sent out with a large force; the infantry, under the earl of Orkney, are to take post at La Bassée, and the cavalry are advancing on Arras. Forty squadrons have been sent to reinforce the duke of Berwick. A courier with letters from Mr. Stanhope has been captured by the French. Tortosa has surrendered. Dated at camp at Wervik. ff. 129-131
