Description

Conditions which the landgrave of Hesse-Cassel has declared to the count de Rechteren for sending his troops to the planned operation on the Moselle:

1. Payment by England of all the arrears due to him for the last and the present war.

2. The two maritime powers to assure his presence at the next peace treaty [negotiations].

3. That in case of illness or absence of Prince Eugene, the crown prince should take command.

4. That Hessian generals and officers should be treated according to their seniority as with imperial troops.

5 That England and the Netherlands should support the landgrave in certain just claims of his at the imperial court.

All the above to be met within six weeks, or the landgrave reserves the right not to send his forces. Dated at Cassel. ff. 42, 43
