Marlborough to Harley: despite M. Tesse putting large forces into Toulon, he is optimistic as to the outcome. Vendôme has detached twelve battalions and nine squadrons [to Toulon]. Reinforcements for Spain are dependent on the outcome at Toulon, and must come from Italy and Naples. Count Wratislaw despairs of his negotiations in Saxony. Dated at camp at Meldert. ff. 701,702
