Marlborough to Sir Clowdisley Shovell: he hopes the letter will reach him at the rendezvous appointed by the duke of Savoy. He has learned from the conference held at Turin that there may be a shortage of powder and shot for the project [attack on Toulon]. He desires him to buy powder and, if possible, shot, at Genoa and Leghorn. Dated at camp at Meldert. ff. 632, 633
