Marlborough to Harley: he wishes that Robinson had taken care of the money. He has written to Count Piper [in Hanover] [SP 87/2/295] and to Vienna to prevent discord between the two courts. The queen should write to the king of Sweden herself. He has exhorted the court at Vienna to send a 'proper general' to command the troops in Germany, and has told the margrave of Bayreuth and the duke of Württemburg that he is in no position to help them. Brigadier Pepper has been with him and is proceeding on his journey to the king of Spain. He has advised Count Goess to temporize with the king of Sweden. The Hessian minister at The Hague has exchanged the ratifications of the treaty. Dated at camp at Meldert. ff 604, 605
