Marlborough's instructions for the count de Lescheraine to communicate to the elector Palatine at Düsseldorf: as soon as the first 4,000 men have departed, the augmentation of 3,000 troops requested by the elector will take place. The force of 10,000 men will consist of 7,000 of the elector's troops and 3,000 from the maritime powers. The arrears due to the elector will be paid promptly. The count is to send a courier to The Hague as soon as he has secured the elector's consent. ff. 367, 368
