Marlborough to Harley: he supposes that M. Vryberg will have consulted Harley on the movement of troops from Portugal to Catalonia. M. Buys, pensionary of Amsterdam, will accompany Marlborough to England to wait on the queen. The states [general] have found a fund to pay the extra 3,000 troops the elector Palatine wishes to send to Italy. Marlborough has informed the elector Palatine and the emperor [Joseph I], whom he has advised to press for the immediate departure of the first 4,000 men, who will be able to quell the troubles in Bavaria on their march to Italy.
