Marlborough [to Harley]: he has visited the king of the Romans a second time at Landau. Memorial of the count de Briançon. The elector Palatine and the bishop of Würzburg are raising 8,000 men to go to the assistance of Prince Eugene. Villeroi has informed Marlborough that the French court has agreed to the exchange of four battalions captured in Portugal. Progress of the siege of Landau. The king of the Romans has offered the electress of Bavaria the same terms as were offered before the fall of Ulm. Dated at Weissenburg. ff. 164, 165
