Description

Marlborough to Nottingham: expedients for raising the troops required by the treaty with Portugal. Nottingham should suggest to the states [general] the employment of ten or twelve battalions of foreign infantry. Affairs go badly in Germany. He will not open the trenches [before Bonn] until the following week. Dated at Cologne. ff. 39, 40
