Description

Marlborough [to Nottingham]: he approves the choice of Sir Da[vid] Mitchell [to negotiate naval matters with the Dutch]; lack of forage will force both armies to think of winter quarters by mid-October, so he will go to The Hague at that time. He wishes to know whether he should stay there until the arrival of the emperor [Leopold I]'s messengers. Dated at camp at As. ff. 19, 20
