Description

George Stepney to Sir William Trumbull [secretary of state]: the manner in which Mr. Dickvelt and Callières became acquainted and began their negotiations. Callières now addresses himself rather to Mr. Boreel. German and Spanish proposals to raise another 40,000 men. President de la Tour in fear for his person. Dated at The Hague. PS. that the Sieur de Pointis is fitting out 15 or 16 ships at Brest and speculation as to his intentions. ff. 222, 223
