Adam Cardonnel [to the under secretary of state]: the majority of the French army are in lines between Menin and Ypres. 10,000 men have been detached to reinforce de Boufflers, at Pont d'Espierre. Another force is between Ypres and Knokke to observe Major General Ellenborger near Diksmuide. The elector of Bavaria is near Hanterive. The duke of Württemberg has gone to Diksmuide to proceed with forces from thereabouts to the investment of the fort of la Quenoque. Major General Churchill to join him. PS. concerning the duke of Württemberg's baggage. Dated at camp at Beselare. ff. 15, 16
