'Further correspondence [1909] relating to

  • I.-Sleeping sickness.
  • II.-Sleeping Sickness Bureau.
  • III.-Ankylostomiasis.

(In continuation of Miscellaneous No. 224: continued by Miscellaneous No. 254.)' Includes:

  • 1. Map of districts in the East Africa Protectorate infected with sleeping sickness, as known on January 1, 1909
  • 2. Two plates:
  • (i) Surra trypanosomes as observed in horses in Mauritius
  • (ii) 'Trypanosoma Davidi,' observed in the juices of certain plants in Mauritius.

[Trypanosoma is the parasite which causes sleeping sickness; ankylostomiasis is commonly known as hookworm disease.]
