Description

Straits Settlements: 'Further correspondence relating to the affairs of certain native states in the Malay Peninsula, in the neighbourhood of the Straits Settlements.' Includes further reports on disturbances, the murder of J W W Birch, British Resident in Perak, the execution of the Malayan Panjang Meroo, trial of those arrested during Malacca riots, etc, with appendix of copy of speech by Lord Stanley of Alderley in the House of Lords on the subject of the Malay Peninsula. (114 pages and 1 map)
