Mauritius: 'Correspondence relating to Indian immigrants in Mauritius and its dependencies.' Includes: a copy of Ordinance No. 34 of 1871 to provide for the appointment of inspectors of immigrants; papers in legal cases (Police v. Dr. Tyack and Police v. Dr. Bolton) of breach of Ordinance No. 29 of 1865 (Hospital Ordinance); investigation of complaint of sixty seven Indian labourers against Mont Choisy sugar estate; proposals for return passages for immigrants; reports of the Committee of Council on Immigration, and the Police Enquiry Commission, and reasons for dissent; despatches and returns relating to conditions of Indian immigrants and labourers, especially on sugar estates.
