Description

'Report of the Committee appointed to consider the proposals for laying a telegraph cable between British North America and the colonies of Australasia.' The report contains minutes of the proceedings of the committee (referred to as the Pacific Cable Committee), papers and statements submitted by witnesses and correspondence. An additional statement by William Hepworth Mercer is appended.
