General administrative files of the planning divisions of the Ministry of Housing and Local Government. These files concern mainly planning and development in London and the south east, but also include discussion of general planning policy and development plans of other councils in England. Other subjects include the dispersal of government offices to sites outside London; disposal of land, including that released by railway closures; rehabilitation of derelict land; the Land Commission Act 1967; planning compensation; and the Second Land Use Survey. Papers of the Central Housing Advisory Committee are included and material relating to the establishment of the Peak Planning Board and the Lake District Joint Planning Board. The series includes a file on the Aberfan disaster.
The series includes some files re-registered from KA Series ( JH 1 ) and the KC file series ( JH 8 ).
