Description

These were submitted to the Local Government Board as schemes for the provision of accommodation for persons displaced from working class dwellings as a result of undertakings, including railway, gas, water, tramways, school, harbour, road and other improvements and developments under Local Acts, Railway Acts and Provisional Order Confirmation Acts. Such rehousing schemes were later carried out under section 3 of the Housing of the Working Classes Act 1903, and subsequent housing legislation. Most of the schemes have plans attached.
