The reports relate to the Laboratory of the Government Chemist, the Machinery Group of the National Engineering Laboratory and the Regional Offices of Mintech itself.
The three reports in this series were found amongst the DTI staff inspection reports. All bear an XP file reference; however no files with this prefix survive.

Complementing Branch were responsible for the complementing and staff inspection of all non-industrial posts and co-ordination of parliamentary estimates for manpower.
After the amalgamation of the Ministry of Technology with the Board of Trade in October 1970 to form the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), staff inspections became the responsibility of Branch 2 of Establishment Division (Organisation) of the DTI.
