This series contains assignation books (general series) of the Prize Court.
The books record brief notes of the prize proceedings both in court and in chambers. Many of them relate to ships taken as prize during the French Revolutionary and Napoleonic wars. There are also some relating to theWar of American Independence, and there is a volume of 1840 arising from the 'Opium War' with China. The volumes usually have an index of ships' names appended.
