GFM 34
[1804-1958]
Microfilm copies of the records in GFM 33 (captured documents from the German Foreign Ministry archives, and from some other German ministries, concerning German foreign policy in the period 1867-1945) and GFM 36 (captured Italian documents), and also of documents captured from the Japanese embassy in Rome, 1915 to 1943; captured records of German agencies operating in Italy and reporting to the Ministry for Armaments and War Production, 1943 to 1945; and a small number of miscellaneous German documents.
The series is arranged according to serial numbers reflecting the order in which the captured records were first copied. The microfilms in this series were renumbered from a pre-existing sequence recorded in several manuscript ledgers (see GFM 1/45-48).
Items noted as wanting in pieces 45-48 are mainly films which were removed at various dates from the collection held by the Foreign [and Commonwealth] Office, and may now be found at the Imperial War Museum, for example documents relating to the Nuremberg War Trials, or technical documents in the former Ministry of Technology collection.
