The CP prefix, which appears to refer to the chemical plant aspect of the ECS Division's responsibilities, was probably raised in 1967. It was preceded by an earlier CP series with three part file numbers, which was used briefly in 1966-1967. Early in 1967, these files were closed or re-registered into the new CP series which used two part file numbers. The CP prefix was used until 1972 when many of the files were re-registered in MME 4.
