Description
(What the record is about)
-
This series contains the files of the Telecommunications Division of the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications and, through re-registration, files inherited from the External Telecommunications Executive of the Post Office. The files relate mainly to the Commonwealth Telecommunications Conference of 1965 to 1966.
The OSB series was first raised by the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications. Early files in this series were inherited from the External Telecommunications Executive of the GPO and re-registered into the OSB series.
Further files were added to the series by the Telecommunications Division of the Ministry, and subsequently by its successors, the Department of Industry and the Department of Trade and Industry. The files that the Department of Industry raised in this series were for the use of its Posts and Telecommunications Division. In 1983, when the Department of Trade and Industry was set up, the series continued in its Telecommunications Division.
