Letters patent from the aldermen of Lille stating that Frederic van Dale has appeared before them and sworn under oath that his brother John van Dale has at the city of St Lucar de Barrameda in Spain loaded into the ship The Phoenix, master George Tam, two bars of silver detailed in the accompanying bill of lading (f. 65). Tam was wrecked on the Isle of Wight, and one of the silver bars was recovered and taken to London. Tam's efforts to recover it through his agent, Luke Jakobs [there is a full translation into English of this document in HCA 30/840/26] (ff. 64, 66)
