This series contains files from the legal sections of the Control Commission and Control Office and Foreign Office German Department, many from the office of Sir Alfred Brown, legal adviser in succession to these three. As well as the provision and administration of civil and military legal services in occupied territory for both residents and occupation personnel, they deal with the reform of the German legal and administrative system. The series includes an incomplete set of minutes and papers of the Allied Control Authority Legal Directorate.
