Custodial history
The proceedings and many other records of the Court of Requests were housed, after their abolition by the Long Parliament, in the Treasury of the Receipt of the Exchequer where, to some extent, they became confused not only with records of the Courts of Wards and of Star Chamber, but also with the records of the Exchequer. It seems probable that the private office papers of Maddocks had been left behind with the records of the court and have followed their archival history prior to transfer to the Public Record Office.
