Name of convict: Lewis Gunner. Crime: Offence within the "Black Act." Sentence: Death. Where tried or confined: Winchester. Object of Petition: As the prisoner is reprieved in order for tranportation they desire that no further mitigation of his sentence may be granted. [This petition is addressed to Sir John Fortescue Aland in whose letter, dated at Knolls, Sept. 23, it is enclosed. The letter and copy of an advertisment relating to the malicious burning of houses and barns in Bentworth, are annexed]
