Folios 75-76. Mr Serjeant Baynes, from Brizes to ----- Introducing Mr. Willoughby who desires to obtain a reprieve for Grant who was found guilty of murder at the last assizes at Salisbury. This letter is endorsed: Petition of Edward Grant for a Pardon. Baron Comyns being dissatisfied with the verdict appointed a long day for the execution. What is desired is a reference to him, and that the execution may be respited 'till he has made his report. the jury were threatened into the bringing in this verdict by the mob.
