Folios 102-103. Dr. Edward Gee from Chevening to ----- Acknowledges a letter with one enclosed from the Bishop of Lincoln to the Duke of Newcastle, giving an account of the disputes in the Chapter at Lincoln about his dispensation. is surprised at the bishop writing to the Duke since he must know it was his Grace who applied to his Majesty for the dispensation and would not have done so if he had thought it illegal and beyond his prerogative. Does not doubt his Grace will stand by what he has done and can easily vindicate his proceedings without any regard to the Bishop's cunning letter.
