Folios 13-14. Bishop of London to [Delafaye]. I took it for granted that the Deanery of Clogher was long since bestowed upon Dr. Story; but if it be still in suspense and Dr. Daniel or Mr. Whaley will be content to take it, as an expedient to drop the suit; I think it cannot be bestowed to any better purpose. This is what one would the rather wish, because some of the lords here have a scheme for accommodating that difference by the King's giving Dr. Daniel the Bishopric of Clonfert; by which there would be upon the Irish Bench only nine English bishops against thirteen Irish.
