Folios 120-121. Dr. G. Paul from Doctors Commons to --------. I have the favour of your second letter relating to the rectory of Mahon by which I conclude that it is a donative, and to be held as such. In our law donative, and to be held as such. In our law donatives are so called because they may be granted to a clergyman bythe single act of the patron, without any regular presentation, instituttion or induction, and the grant being once made, it creates a right, as lasting, full and complete, as institution or induction. In this case therefore, I conceive, that the nomination prepared for Dr. Saura to the rectory of Mahon will be sufficient, valid and effectual.
