Folios 93-94. (Lord Inverness) from Pisa to Allan Cameron. I thank you for your letter of the 4th. Your silence never can make me think that you are so changeable as to alter that friendship you have long professed for me without my giving you reason to do so. Edgar tells me that the gazettes mention Lord Kinnoul's being named to the Embassy of Constantinople, I desire you won't think that a sufficient motive, tho' I don't doubt but some who favour me with their ill will, may lay that to my door, which I shan't be at the trouble to contradict if they do till I have an opportunity of seeing you put your shattered collarbone to a trial, which I pray God may be soon.
