Description

Folios 108-112. [Newcastle] from Kensington to Townshend. Sends the following: Minutes of the proceedings of a council held at Kensington yesterday in which the further prorogation of Parliament was ordered to September 16 next and minutes of the Committees of council which met at the Cockpit today. Attorney-General's letter and papers concerning the prosecution of Farley, the printer at Exeter, on account of Mist's libel of 24 August last. The Craftsman, containing insolent and seditious libels and the examiniation of the publisher of the paper. Judge's report on the petition of - Barrel, under sentence of death. Copies of letters to Mr Keene and the Plenipotentiaries concerning the continuance of Spanish depredations in the West Indies. Copy of a letter from Mr. Stanyan and of one from [Newcastle] to Mons. Skutenhielm, concerning the disposition of the Porte towards the Court of Sweden. Copy of a letter from Lord Tyrawley and copies of advices received from Consul Skinner; from a person at Florence who had undertaken during Mr. Colma's absence to send an account of what should pass there; from Consul Cayley, Consul Chamberlain, Consul Russell and Mr. Walton. Some secret letters. Foul draft.
