Folios 161-168. [Newcastle] from Kensington to Townshend. Reports improvement in the Queen's health and encloses copies of the following:- Minutes of the proceedings of a council held yesterday; letter from Colonel Montague, commanding officer at Port Mahon, complaining of want of ordnance stores; memorial of merchants trading to the Canary Islands who complain of the Governor there in publishing an order requiring all persons not Roman Catholics to depart from thence; letter from Mr. Everard, Governor of North Carolina, with an order he has issued against the Secretary of that colony making out grants of land; two letters he has written to Mr, Burnet, Governor of New England; letter from Consul Deane to Delafaye, concerning the refusal fo the masters of ships to produce their Admiralty passes; two letters from Consul Cayley and secret letters. Enquiries have been made concerning Mrs. Da Costa's correspondence and it appears to relate to some private family affair in which the Government is not concerned. Three foul drafts. The Queen's health was made the subject of a separate letter.
