Folios 63-64. H. Pelham form Whitehall to [Townshend]. The Queen has commanded him to state that the Duke of Devonshire had requested her to recommend his brother Lord James Cavendish to his Majesty's favour. He is at present a captain in Colonel Desney's regiment and it is desired he may be advanced to a company of the guards.
