Description

Folio 36. J.Sutton from Scofton to [Newcastle]. Acknowledging compliments upon the Newark election and stating that the gentlemen who appeared on their side were Lord Howe, Sir Robert Sutton, Sir Francis Mollineux, Mr.Pinkney, Captain Poole, Mr.Charlton. Mr.Beecher; on the other side: Sir Robert Clifton, Mssrs. Levinz, Willoughby, Cartwright, Lewis, and all the rest of the "Tory rorys" except Warren in the county.
