Folios 32-33. R.Edgcumbe from Mount Edgcumbe to ---- St. Maws and St. Mitchel elections were appointed yesterday and I have not yet any account from either, but I have no doubt about them since we have no opposition of candidate but one Councellor Budgel, who is gone to Mitchel and says that he carries the Duchess of Marlborough's purse in his portmantle. I believe you will not see from this county any one alteration in the desired list, except at Launceston where Sir W. Morrice will certainly carry both and rout that old Jacobite interest for ever. The return, I doubt, will be made against us, but we shall hope for justice in a better place.... I am much concerned for Lord Townshend. Delafaye says his case is not thought dangerous. P.S. Mitchel is over, Budgel hath lost it, and Farington and Kelsall chosen.
