This is a collection of particulars of accounts of various receivers of fines on alienations, almost entirely during the seventeenth century, and covering most of that period, ending in 1697. The later bundles also include a variety of documents subsidiary to accounts for the period down to 1659 only. A few related documents in E 101/610-611 run to 1708.
The accounts consist of rolls of medium size, recording the income and outgoings of the office in a form and manner similar to other declared accounts. It is not clear why these are separate from the others, except that they were earlier kept among the 'ancient miscellanea' of the King's Remembrancer.
Other declared accounts, though not for the Alienation Office, are in E 351
The records of the Alienation Office itself, mostly for later periods, are in A 1 - A 9.
