Description

Folio 140: Swann to [Williamson]. Has taken care that during his absence all news out of Hamburg will be reported to England 'by a discreet and honest hand' he will provide. Answers Williamson's query about position of duke Christian of Merseburg, second brother ofelector of Saxony; his consort is of house of Holstein-Nordenburg [Glücksburg]. Some German princes in vicinity of Hamburg wish to confer with him [before his departure]. Differences between elector palatine and elector of Mayence resolved between themselves.
