Folio 138: ? Enclosed: Swann to [Arlington]. Acknowledges receipt of Arlington's letter of June 11/21 expressing readiness to support any motion by secretary Trevor or any other for restoring to him, Swann, his daily allowance of 40s. Takes note of [Francis] Townley's urging his return to Hamburg and explains at length that, and why, he is prepared, on his forthcoming sojourn to England, to be, together with Townley, confronted by Arlington, to substantiate his charges of intrigues and 'many great miscarriages' committed against the company and himself during Sir William Morrice's secretaryship. Refers him to Morrice [for further information].
