Folio 133: Swann to [Williamson]. [Francis baron] Lisola believed to go to Hamburg to treat there with [Don José de] Pimentel [Spanish resident at Hamburg] and some Swedish ministers about payment of subsidies. News of Polish election expected; fears that [elector of] Brandenburg will find himself deceived 'in that businesse' and that 'M. de Beziers' is 'the only obstakle in promotinge the duke of Neuburg to that crowne'. King's taking more notice of German Protestant princes is being taken well and kindly by them; suggests that if King keep 'constant correspondence' with them, he may well have them all 'more in his devotion' than French King who spends large sums of money to that end; his view confirmed by duke of Saxony-Lauenburg and prince [? Christian August] Sulzbach [count palatin by Rhine], who was lately in French service and had recently met Sir Gabriel Sylvius at Celle. Earldom of Oldenburg and Delmenhorst now firmly belonging to King of Denmark and duke of Holstein-Gottorp; count Anthony, natural son of late earl, is governor of, and for, both, any claims by duke of Holstein-Ploen 'will signifye littel'.
