Folio 115: Robert Yard to [Williamson]. Arrival at Hamburg [accompanying Sir Peter Wyche, ambassador to Russia] where they met Thynne and Paull on their return journey to England (see f.112); earl of Carlisle had left three days ago to visit dukes of Brunswick-Lüneburg but is to return presently [to Hamburg]; on their journey, Wyche and Yard passed Münster where they heard about new levies by bishop [Galen]; at Stade, Wyche delivered a letter to governor of that province; Hamburgers full of expectation concerning 'the issue' of Merchant adventurers, wishing them to stay there, and refuse to believe city 'will so rashly part with them'; Carlisle, it seems has given senate a short memorial, as yet unanswered, offering his 'best endeavours' to intercede with King about accommodation between company and city if latter will confirm them their old privileges in full; count [Claes] Tott to go as Sweden's ambassador to Poland 'where the Muscovites gett ground apace'.
