Folio 105: Petition by Daniel vom Campe and John Eckhoff, Hamburg residents, to the King. Pray for release of [part of] cargo [340 pigs of lead belonging to George Lüders, citizen of Hamburg, and shipped by him, on evidence sent by senate to their residents, 'as his proper goods' and 'for his own account and risigo' aboard Dutch vessel Charity of Amsterdam, Cors Janssen, master; ship, sailing from Hamburg upon some report 'then very hot' there of peace 'fully' concluded at Breda, was [shortly before July 31, 1667] arrested by an English man of war and brought to Kingston-upon-Hull; intercede for Lüders to whom, pursuant to rule, 'unfree ships make also the goods unfree', loss of his lead may mean his utter ruin.
