Describes unsettled state of Poland after Queen's death, with particular regard to question of succession; refers to Condé's designs to gain crown for himself and his plans for entering Poland either from Riga and Livonia, or from Silesia; assesses r"le of count Christopher Pac, great chancellor of Lithuania, in machinations of French party and senate's unclear attitude against background of general confusion and continuing attacks by Tartars and Cossacks in Ukraine; Condé and his brother to attend Queen's obsequies.
